Hi Harry,
My son was diagnosed with myopia & astig when he was
3. We did what the doctor advised but did not get any better
for the past two years. It has been about two months since
I attended your seminar and since then I have got my son
to do the Bates Method exercises. Few weeks ago, when I
brought him back for his vision assessment, his doctor (She)
was amazed with his improvement. She was curious and amazed
with what have been done (incl. sharing about your seminar).
Probably for "confirmation", she schedule my son
for another assessment, in about three months, before she
pen down the next prescription for him.
Experiencing is believing. I'll keep you inform of the assessment.
Regards, Steven 24.8.2003
Contacted Steven again in November and heard
the good news that his son's astigmatism has also reduced
when assessed on the scheduled appointment.
Hi Harry,
I used to think that we needed to see clearly. I felt that
it would give me perhaps more security and confidence of
all that is happening around me. I would be informed and
could observe everything that was going on. I was very upset
the day I was told I would not be able to wear contact lens
on a permanent basis due to dry eyes. I thought it was as
if I had no other way but to put on glasses like a person
with a myopic perspective of the world. I hated it. The
day I went to Harry Queks workshop was one of starting
points in life when you found youve suddenly become
freed from many of your questions and troubles (many relating
to eyesight of course). Where previously people tried to
force into me that there was no such thing as natural vision
improvement, I believe in it wholeheartedly because life
itself is too important to be taken seriously. My eyesight
has improved significantly and I have dropped to almost
half of my original prescription within a couple of months,
from about 600D to 350D on both eyes. The Bates method is
not all about the eyes; with it comes a deeper understanding
and accommodation of our body and mind. It is through taming
our mind to a calmer or creative one that the improvement
comes about. For example, I learned that sometimes we do
not need to see the world as clear as it should be, because
we only perceive what we see as what is happening around
us, so be it a clearer vision or not, there is no one fixated
rule that states that with better sight, you are in control
of the situation. We are vulnerable and strength comes from
within, not by any external means. Through my journey with
this Bates method (something I hope to maintain throughout
my life), it taught me the value of detachment. Im
very thankful I gave myself this chance, and others out
there with the same sentiments about the hassle and restrictions
with contacts and glasses should do so to. I firmly believe
you would not regret it.
